Korean Bulgogi Steak

I won some beautiful Beringer Steak Knives from the awesome Kristen over at Dine and Dish. They are gorgeous and I so appreciate the giveaway!

So of course, we had steak. To go with our new carving set of course!

I got this recipe from Food On The Table but I've been seeing versions of it all over.  I am pretty sure that Korean Bulgogi is supposed to be meat strips, marinated and cooked. I just used 6 small steaks and marinated them whole. So maybe it would be more accurate to say this is a recipe that is INFLUENCED from Korean Bulgogi.  I'd so hate to offend.

I also marinated a chopped onion along with this. I wish I had put more onion in it. I forgot how much I love onions with steak.  This marinade was incredible!  It received thumbs up from everyone.

I cooked the steaks in the pan, I'm not much of a griller.  We grill corn and hot dogs but everything else just gets burnt or not done if we try to grill it.  I cooked these until they were done and then just simmered the sauce until it was reduced and nice and thick.  We used all of the onions and the sauce. SO GOOD!

  10. I know I really liked this recipe because:
    1) Tonight is the second time I made in two months. I enjoy trying new recipes so anything that is a repeat must have really earned high marks the first time.
    2) I made this for my in-laws! I always stress over what to cook for them because I want to make sure it's going to impress them and this one didn't let me down.
It's also so simple, as long as you plan in advance to let it sit in the marinade.
    Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  11. This is an easy bulgogi for sure! Love it! Can't wait to serve it with sticky rice and kimchee!
